Design Studio: Career Pathways Into Digital Shipbuilding
On November 14, 2018, the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center hosted a Design Studio focused on expanding existing partnerships in the development of career pathways into Digital Shipbuilding. Forty people attended, representing the shipbuilding and ship repair industries, K-14 schools, economic development associations, and representatives from the state legislature. A set of design principles was created, which will guide the development of a Digital Shipbuilding industry collaborative to promote career pathways.
Excellent workshop! This was one of the most inspirational and well-thought-out first steps to establish a Digital Shipbuilding pipeline from the K-12 perspective. Thank you for recognizing the importance of K-12 in the STEM pipeline to workforce.
Outstanding workshop; it was a real education for me. Superb organization, efficient productivity. Time well spent all the way around. Excellent support by ODU faculty and staff. I’ll come back for the next round.
The collaboration and generation of ideas between the various sectors represented was inspiring and motivating.
