We’re excited to welcome Ryan Olk as Data Analyst for Digital Ship.

Ryan currently lives in Williamsburg, VA, but is originally from Los Angeles. Ryan attended Cal State Northridge, majoring in linguistics and then transferred to Old Dominion University in 2016. He graduated from ODU with a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics. Ryan also has a master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in mathematics and statistics.

In his role as a Data Scientist, Ryan will be working with Dr. Katie Smith and Dr. Rafael Diaz, explaining variation and data sets for projects.

So far, Ryan is enjoying working at VMASC and Digital Ship. “I’m excited about the fantastic opportunities to do impactful work that I am proud of,” Ryan said. “Everyone has been really nice to work with. It’s a great environment to be in, to be creative, and to express my abilities.”

In his free time, Ryan likes to play the piano, work out, and dance!

Fun fact: Ryan has been fortunate to visit other countries in his life. He did a home stay in France in high school and studied abroad for a semester in Japan.
